Dr. Nur Atiqah Abd Rahman

Dr. Nur Atiqah Abd Rahman is a Research Officer at FRIM and holds a Ph.D. in Zoology from UKM. With a strong research interest in bat ecology and small vertebrates, she leverages environmental education to inspire nature conservation. An active member of MCKC since 2015, she played a pivotal role in the success of the Batu Caves Scientific Expedition and has twice been named a Highly Commended Applicant for the Tony Whitten Conservation Award for her contributions to limestone research and conservation.

Dr. Ros Fatihah Muhammad

Dr. Ros is a geologist whose research interest is on karst morphology, Quartenary paleontology and Quartenary science. She is the Malaysian delegate at the International Union of Speleology. She is currently a member of the Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya and chairs the Karst Working Group in the Geological Society of Malaysia.

Aliaa Athirah Adam Malek

Aliaa Athirah is a postgraduate student at the University of Malaya, with current research focuses on the origin of montane flora. She first discovered limestone flora in 2017, while contributing to the project during her internship at the National Herbarium, Kepong (KEP) and later became fascinated with it. She now looks forward to contributing to the ongoing research exploration of the flora in these threatened habitats.

Dr. Nurul Ain Elias

Dr. Nurul ‘Ain Binti Elias holds a PhD in Zoology from Texas Tech University, USA. Her research integrates ecology and conservation biology, with a strong emphasis on bat ecology, ecosystem services, reproductive biology, and human–wildlife interactions. Currently she is one of faculty member in School of Biological Sciences, USM.

Dr. Zubaid Akbar Mukhtar Ahmad

Dr. Zubaid is the longest-serving MCKC member on this committee, having been the President between 2018-2022 and currently as the Vice President since 2022. His work focuses on bats and their ecology.

Dr. Yong Kien Thai

Dr. Yong is a Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Biological Sciences, Universiti Malaya, and serves as the Curator of the Universiti Malaya Herbarium (KLU). Trained as a bryologist, he also has a broad research interest in the diversity and conservation of Malaysia's rich flora. He has participated in numerous scientific expeditions to forests throughout the country, including surveys of limestone karst ecosystems, contributing to the documentation and understanding of Malaysia's botanical diversity.
